mcpro24fpsProfessional Video Camera for Android

Use an external monitor or recorder

A monitor or recorder connects through a USB-C to HDMI adapter, on phones that output video over USB-C. The app has two different HDMI settings, depending on what you need on the external screen.

A bigger viewfinder

Use this to frame and focus on a monitor while the phone records.

  1. Connect the monitor.
  2. In Viewfinder settings set HDMI Output to On.
  3. The monitor shows the viewfinder picture with your tools: LUT, zebra, false colour, focus peaking, frame lines and the grid. The phone records as usual.

A clean signal for a recorder

Use this when an external recorder records the picture.

  1. Connect the recorder.
  2. In the video menu set HDMI Output to On. If no display is found, the app shows HDMI connection not found.
  3. The monitor gets the clean video stream without any overlays. The phone itself does not record in this mode: pressing the record button shows Recording via HDMI is On.

Without GPU recording, the external display gets the picture only in sizes and frame rates it can take. While the video menu setting is on, the viewfinder setting has no effect.
