Privacy Policy — mcpro24fps RAW Converter

Applies to mcpro24fps RAW Converter, the desktop application for Windows that plays RAW recordings made by mcpro24fps in the .mcpro format and converts them to CineForm video and CinemaDNG. Distributed through the Microsoft Store and as a direct installer.

1. Who we are

Controller: CHANTAL PRO SIA. Registration number: 40103332030. VAT: LV40103332030. Address: Bebru iela 16–34, Jēkabpils, Jēkabpils nov., LV-5201, Latvia. Contact: info@mcpro24fps.com.

2. The short version: the application does not go online

mcpro24fps RAW Converter makes no network connections. It does not connect to any server, ours or anyone else's. It does not check for updates, does not send telemetry, does not report crashes, has no account and no sign-in, and shows no advertising. There is no analytics library inside it.

Everything the application does happens on your computer: it opens the recordings you point it at, shows them, and writes the files you ask it to write. Nothing about your work leaves the machine, and we receive nothing. The only link in the application — to mcpro24fps.com in the About window — opens your web browser, and only if you click it.

3. What it reads and what it writes

Reads: the .mcpro recordings you open, and a colour lookup table (.cube) if you choose one. It does not scan your disks, does not index your library and does not open anything you did not select.

Writes: the files you ask for — CineForm video (.mov), CinemaDNG folders and single DNG frames — to the location you choose. The video file carries the recording's own metadata (camera, exposure, lens and similar settings recorded by mcpro24fps) and the conversion settings, so that an editing application can use them; strip the metadata before publishing a file if that matters to you. Your source recordings are not modified.

Keeps on your computer:

  • your preferences (interface language, output settings) — in your Windows user profile;
  • the look you set for a clip (exposure, white balance, lookup table) — in a small file next to that clip, <clip>.mcpro.look.json, so that it is there the next time you open it; saved presets — in your user profile;
  • a technical log, log.txt, in your user profile: the application version, the Windows version, the graphics adapters and their drivers, the screens, which processing path was chosen, and errors. When you convert a clip, the log also records the conversion command, which includes the paths of the source file and the output folder. The previous log is kept as log.prev.txt; older ones are overwritten.

The log never leaves your computer by itself. It exists so that, if something goes wrong, you can open it (Help → Open log folder) and, if you want, send it to us by email. You can delete it, the look files and the presets at any time; the application works without them.

4. What your distribution channel sees

We receive nothing from the application itself, but the way you obtained it is not invisible, and that part is not ours to control.

ChannelWho sees what
Microsoft StoreMicrosoft handles the licence and the installation, under its own privacy policy. In our developer console we see aggregate figures — installs, ratings, and aggregated crash and health reports that Windows may collect for packaged applications. These are counts and stack traces, not identities: we cannot tell who you are from them.
Direct installerIf you download the installer from our website, the download leaves an ordinary entry in our web server's access log (IP address, time, the file requested, browser identification). That log belongs to the website, and the Privacy Policy of Chantal Pro SIA describes it. The installer itself reports nothing back.

5. Third-party components

The application ships with the Qt libraries and with other open-source components (L-SMASH, Zstandard, libdeflate, lj92, tables from the CineForm SDK). They are listed, with their licences, in the file THIRD-PARTY-NOTICES.txt installed alongside the application and in its About window. Qt's network library is present only because Qt's audio module depends on it; the application does not use it. None of these components collects data.

6. Children

The application is a professional tool and is not directed at children under 13. Since it collects nothing, it collects nothing from children either.

7. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability, and you may complain to the Latvian supervisory authority, Datu valsts inspekcija (dvi.gov.lv), or to the authority where you live.

In practice there is nothing here for us to give you or delete: we hold no data from this application. Everything it keeps is on your computer, under your control. If you sent us a log or wrote to us by email, that correspondence is covered by the Privacy Policy of Chantal Pro SIA.

8. Changes to this policy

If a future version of the application ever gains a feature that needs a network connection — an update check, for example — this page will be changed before that version is published, and the change will be described in the release notes. We will not add such a feature quietly.
